reputation of SIG?
I wanted to know how good SIG is considered in the finance world (to work as trader) and whether it would be considered in the same area as Jane Street, Two Sigma, etc.?

Career Resources
It has a strong reputation in the prop trading circles. I really respect them, because they were prompt when recruiting me, gave me car service to/from the airport, really nice people, etc. It has grown quite a bit, they're starting to branch out to other services like equity research, institutional S&T, and with that extra size comes a more corporate feel.
Some of the things that might be downsides - they're based in Philadelphia, which everyone seems to hate, they have a strong non-compete, it takes a while to become a full trader.
Jane Street and Two Sigma are probably a level above. Especially Two Sigma, that has god-tier status in tech circles for some reason. Also everyone knows Jane Street because of their tough interviews.
So when you say it takes a while to become a full trader, you mean to move from the assistant trader program?
And regarding the non-compete, what exactly does that entail - you can't work for another trading firm for X number of years? I'm in the SV tech industry right now, so I'm not as familiar with this space
