Private Equity Revenue and AUM

When you google a PE firm and it says Revenue: $1 billion..what exactly does that mean? Further, when it says AUM: $150 billion...does that mean capital from all combined funds that are currently active? Do the companies they own not count under AUM?

I would think revenue means the money they're generating from 2/20 (or however they charge fees/profits)

and then AUM is the total amount of money investors have put into the funds
