Navigating through British culture

Hello all, I lived in the US for a while and am now in the UK, working at a middle sized bank, not traditional IBD path though. I'm not from the US nor Europe (think of Korea/Singapore for example), where things work quite differently.

  1. Is it common to be friends with other A2As in the office, if you are from entirely different teams? I mean grabbing lunch/coffee or catch-up from time to time.

  2. Is it common to have your colleagues' personal phone number / Instagram?

  3. How does the pub culture work here?

  4. Any other ways to meet other young people in finance?

My feeling is in US people are more "extroverts" and talk with strangers more? They also text directly instead of using WhatsApp?

Just wanted to know more about Dos and Don'ts in the UK. Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Unrelated, but when I see people say "think Korea/Singapore" without much cogent reason to keep the location confidential, it's funny 😂
