Best way to break into IB in Europe

Hi all, need your advice on the best way to break into IB in Europe (London/Frankfurt)

Profile:
- 27 year old female from Asia
- 4 years exp in food processing MNC (1 promotion)
- GMAT 660 (willing to retake)

Applied to LBS for MBA, but got rejected. Planning to apply to Frankfurt School Msc for this fall intake.

Do you guys think its better if i go ahead for the Msc, or to re-apply for LBS MBA in R1 next year? Plan to retake the GMAT to reach 700+, and will have another promotion by end of this year. My only concern for the Msc is that it's a pre-experience while I already have a couple years of work experience to date.

Many thanks for all the responses.

Have seen a lot of MBA doing analyst internships in Europe / London here, since the summer associate spots are really limited, but the European candidate is extremely large - think of INSEAD, IESE with hundreds of students each intake…

On the other hand it is a little bit unworthy to start from 0 and sweep out 4-year working experience.

How about going to US or targeting at consulting?

Wow didnt know that MBA folks are doing analyst internship position. Is the US that much better than Europe for summer associate recruiting? (Accounting for the much larger candidates etc).

I plan to retake my GMAT and see how it goes, might take a look into consulting. Many thanks!

Having tried the Europe MBA route many moons ago I wouldn't try it.

It's not a well trodden path like in the US. Very few spots, especially in current climate.

I ended up starting as a senior Analyst and working my way up the ranks.

Only my personal perspective from my experience alone.

May I know:

- What is you background prior to MBA?

- Which school you went to?

- Senior Analyst as is A2 or A3?

Thank you for sharing!
