Top Tech to SM HF

how can one end up at a SM HF with -

B.Tech. (IT and Maths) with minor in Economics and Management form non target in India but has 2+ years of experience in freelancing (while being in college) and 2+ years of SWE at top Tech like MAANG or Engineering division at GS/MS/JPM/DE Shaw.

Should he go for top MBA  then IB etc or is there any other better path to follow.

Kindly add thoughts and advice.

MBA. Having no finance experience at all will make it quite difficult for you to land a spot at a HF. There might be some quant roles where you might have an advantage but again, there are so many candidates out there who have both: quant background and experience with finance.
