Polar / Marina Meyers

Hi all - any color on the new credit team at Polar Asset? Seems like this random Canadian asset management firm hired Marina to build out a credit team. Does anyone have color on what kind of mandate and AUM she is running? What's the color on what happened to her at Citadel and BlueMountain?

Sorry guys but I am new to this space, would you explaining what “high gross” means and why does a market neutral credit strategy not work well?

For the latter is it due a lack of liquidity (big bid-ask) that makes a market neutral strat hard to execute?

Lots of longs and shorts (heavy use of leverage) which entails paying a lot of bid offer relative to capital base with few real directional bets. It can work, the comment is just on her track record.
