I need some life advice
Hello everyone. I am a senior, and extremely worried about the state of the wall st. job market. I am a comp sci-econ major, and am looking into quant funds like Citadel, DE Shaw, bulge brackets, and pro shops like SIG, Trillium, DRW. My concern is that I will not be able to find a job anywhere. My question is: Should I do graduate/post-graduate stuff, and wait it out?
P.S.: Does anyone know about the Citadel FTAP?
not to be a douche or anything, but I think its fair to say this falls under career advice. Letting your career define your life is just setting you up for disappointment.
With that said, I cant really comment on your situation, but best of luck.
not to be a douche or anything, but you're a douche. i guess i am too for calling you out but at least ill offer some advice.
esp if you're looking to quant, getting a master's wouldnt be a bad idea. any excuse to ride it out in school if you can afford it is probably your best bet lifewise/careerwise
I'd say thats not a bad backup plan... Just do a quant masters/pHd
I would try interviewing for the experience, and to see what's out there. At least try. But keep in mind there aren't very many jobs... And at the same time, you can still choose a grad school program and apply.
But better yet - go travel for a year, work a ridiculous and fun job, volunteer in some obscure foreign locale...Life is short (and there's no reason to rush in to a shit economy.)
Yea, but I'm graduating in the Class of 2009, and I'm worried that I won't get the job I want (whats left of the BB, quant fund). The academia seems like a good backup
