CAP Associate

Anyone who has gone through the programme can shed some light on how to avoid being rotated into non-investment functions? Is it a performance-based thing? See lots who are promoted to Analyst after 3 years but also a bunch who are rotated in random divisions and end up in non-investment roles, or maybe they're in a separate programme with the same name?
