Dress code in Houston
I am in college and plan to work as an IB analyst in Houston. What would be the standard dress code in that area for someone of my position? Is a blazer and slacks fine, or should I get a full-on suit? Do I even need a jacket at all?
yes
so you're saying that monicles are only for VP level+?
Lol to answer your question seriously... It all depends on the bank. Pretty sure every group in Houston is just suit - tie, except when they meet with clients. Pretty much the most chill guys are CS or UBS; most of their guys don't wear ties
This may be a dumb question, but generally would a blazer with grey or khaki pants be fine, or do I need a full suit (I mean for analyst/associate level)?
The associates at CS had blazers with khaki pants when they came for info sessions at my school. Analysts were in full suits though, so i'd say wear a suit and tie.
It's all about the boots. Check out Cavenders
Why don't you ask people at the bank you'll be working at... Definitely have a suit though. We wear them every once in a while. Otherwise just shirt and slacks (not khakis)
Own a suit for sure. I know CS, DB, UBS and GS all wear shirts no tie and slacks in the office (analyst level).
