writing experience on resume?

A thing i heard repeatedly during the 2 ER interviews i had was that i didn't have "writing experience on my resume" and then the followup "well how are you with writing?". What can i do to put this on my resume? Should i try to pursue writing financial articles somewhere such as on seekingalpha and put that on my resume? or highlight that i took english/composition classes?

Nah they wouldn't care about your english/composition classes. Like, if you've had prior internships did you every have to summarize articles and send them out to the team? Write memos for deals? Create a presentation/deck for a meeting? Do research on an industry and present/send it out?

You could write for your student newspaper.

“...all truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.” - Schopenhauer

I was told by an ER associate the same thing as jqbuyside. Have a report well written and bring it to the interview. I shows 1. your writing skills, 2. a tangible proof that you are truly interest in ER and not a 'finance' job like most people.
