Best data source for Mortgage REITs (MREITs)

Does anyone have any experience with mortgage REITs (NLY, TWO, NYMT, etc) and what service might have the best standardized data for them (net spreads, yields, security holdings)?

I'm looking specifically at Mortgage REITs which are REITs that invest primarily in Agency and non-agency MBS.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

check out SNL Financial. They have pretty good coverage of the REIT world

Thanks, you are right, I should have mentioned I already use SNL. I guess I was looking for alternatives, and more specifically data regarding agency/non-agency MBS securities, prepayment speeds, etc.

So you're looking for an MBS data source specifically? Bloomberg has that data for 15-year and 30-year Fannie/Freddie/Ginnie bonds (pricing, CPRs, yields). There is also Intex and an MBS data service from Reuters. But assuming you don't have $15,000 a year to drop on a data subscription, try MBS Live from www.mortgagenewsdaily.com. Not sure how good that is.

No one offers hybrid ARM pricing or data (that I know of). You can go to your bank's ARM trader for a list of inventory but that's probably as good as it will get. It's a very small portion of the agency market and it's pretty illiquid for getting reliable information.

For non-agency bonds you need Intex or something similar. Given the non-agency market is not nearly as liquid or as large as the agency market, a lot of that info is not easy to come by or available to the public. You can always try to track the ABX or PrimeX indices.

There is also Inside Mortgage Finance (google it) that has data for primary and secondary markets but I don't think they have stuff like prepayments and live pricing.
