Foreign Language for M&A?
Hi all, I'm about to transfer to Pace University's Lubin School of Business, and I'm trying to figure out what foreign language to take for my degree.
I know for sure that I want to go into M&A and stay there, but I can't find anything on here specifically about what foreign language to take to be more desirable for advisory firms (if that's even relevant).
Personally, I'm considering building on my existing (basic to intermediate) French skills, or studying ASL. Any thoughts?
Hi amaiolo4, just trying to help:
No promises, but sometimes if we mention a user, they will share their wisdom: thesleazye Krod980 Luan-Machado
Hope that helps.
I'd say Spanish, but that's because of this country's demographic changes and my experience (Industry, not IB) with working with South American countries. French is an important business language in Europe and was a significant business language in the Muslim world (experience with Boomer aged Turks, Iranians, etc). Mandarin could be helpful, but YMMV with that.
Benefit to learning Spanish is you can learn the other Romance languages (Italian, French, Portuguese, etc) with less effort.
