Congrats on the offer! That's a big step. Now, based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some tips to help you prepare and increase your chances of converting that internship into a full-time offer:

  1. Be Open to Learning: Absorb as much as you can. It might seem overwhelming at first, but there's an immeasurable amount that can be learned by going through the work and asking meaningful questions.

  2. Work Ethic and Attitude: These are key to getting full-time offers. If you demonstrate a good work ethic, good communication, and ask the right questions when you're confused or wrong, your work will generally be better.

  3. Know Your Stuff: Be prepared. In the interview that turned into my first internship, I talked about as much as I could about Finance and Equities. It was apparent I knew what I was talking about. Bonus points if you can walk someone through a DCF model and know basic accounting transactions.

  4. Network: Get to know the rest of the team on a more personal level. This will not only make your time there more enjoyable, but it will also help when it comes time for them to decide on full-time offers.

  5. Quality of Work: Make sure your work is of high quality. Print out everything you work on, take a highlighter and mark changes, and look out for spelling/grammar/formatting mistakes. If possible, see if you can get your fellow interns/analysts to spot check with a fresh set of eyes to see if you missed anything.

As for the courses you mentioned, they could be beneficial, but remember that attitude, work ethic, and communication are just as important, if not more so. Good luck!
