Corporate Finance in Oil & Gas (Houston/New Orleans)
I'm not that interested in investment banking, trading, etc. What I'm interested in is corporate finance in the energy industry. I am from Houston, I grew up with 80% of family friends working in the energy industry, this is what I want to do. I got a B.S. in Finance from a large public school in the south, and will be completing a unique masters program focused in energy finance at Tulane. How hard will it be to break into one of these O&G companies in Houston as a financial analyst in some sort of financial leadership development program? Any advice and insight is appreciated.
It shouldn't be too hard. The masters progam in energy is well regarded - I know it places a lot of ppl in trading positions, not sure about a rotational program in an O&G company though.
It seems like a lot of companies only require undergrad degrees, so my thought process is along the lines that a specialized master's degree in the business of energy will set me apart, because god knows my work experience does not.
Ask andy he is in corporate finance in some oil company
I'm sorry but I'm new, Andy?
