Anecdotally UVA seems better represented in strategy consulting & finance than UT, but that may just be selection bias.

Realistically both of them are going to be viewed the same, and undergrads at both will have the same quality of opportunity. I would say those two and and Ross are near or at the top tier of public unis (and maybe UCLA etc etc) with only Berkeley being better (and that’s really just because of STEM)

UVa certainly has better MBB placement. If you want to work in Texas offices UT is a better bet but outside of that UVa tends to do better.

UT has very high placement into Houston, Dallas, and Austin offices. That’s three offices where UT is a target, and these offices are less competitive than the northeast where you would have to compete with Ivys.

UVA may still have higher placement, but if above posters are in the northeast they will have a very warped view of how well UT is represented.

Very true - I work in northeast (Boston/NYC) and have never seen anyone from either school in my MBB. I think office and alma mater matters a ton for where you are applying in terms of office location
