Target School Dilemma
Hi all so here is my dilemma.
I go to a university where the business school is a target school by MBB and the college is only a target by 1 or 2 of MBB. I can transfer to the business school but, since the bschool grades on a curve and everyone in there are very smart, I think my GPA will be lower than if I'm in the college of arts and sciences. Knowing MBB are obsessed about GPA, transferring to B-school will hurt my GPA but gets me into a target school. If I don't transfer, I stay in CAS (target by only 1 or 2)and can expect a high GPA. Assuming I've had internships in BB PWM, boutique ibanking, and boutique private equity, what should I do?
What's your major?
"Banking - It is what it is"
Economics
My GPA is 3.7+
Wow, dude. That's pretty impressive. You're pretty much touching upon every base of Finance. PWM, Banking, P/E, and now Consulting. Is your school USC by any chance? My friends who are in the business school there say they curve to a 3.0, which is a bitch in my opinion.
You seem like you are legit. Have you been rejected by MBB before or are you just planning ahead?
I prefer not to disclose the school I attend. Relative to some other ppl out there, like the guy on the other forum who interned in ML PWM, ML IBanking and Blackstone PE, I think my experiences pale a little.
Powertime, I'm going to apply for a MBB internship.
lol ya that guy with two ML and BX was asking people here for resume advice. Hilarious.
nvm
ya that ML/BX guy is a complete tank. I'd sell my unborn child to work at BX.
Can anyone answer my original question please? Advice will be greatly appreciated. And I wouldn't want this thread to turn into a place to bash other ppl.
I would say you are fine. I don't know much about MBB recruiting but it seems like you have solid work experience and a strong GPA. I think it would be retarded for them to not even interview you. You just need to crush the case once you are there
