How to break into Consulting from Data Management

Hi all,
I started my career in Data Management (Operations depart. My 1st year), but realized that I would rather want to work in consulting industry (wanted to start with management consulting, maybe in the future get into strategy c.)
I understand that there’s no exact instruction, that will guarantee the result, but what would you recommend:
1. how to adjust my current role to be even considered for the interview in boutique firms or big4 entry level positions ?
2. If I’m lucky to have an interview - how to better present my experience that it will help me (cause we don’t actually work on strategy or analysis, we just manage the data flow, like project management), but I volunteer a lot outside of my job duties - try to create cultural clubs in the company to help people bond with each other + trying to analyze by myself how to increase engagement.

Would appreciate any advice, ready for honest and realistic view from experienced consultants or hiring people from this industry!! Thank you
