Emory or UVA?

Accepted as junior transfer to Emory GBS and UVA Commerce. Looking to break into consulting (MBB/Big 4/Boutiques) for Fall 2023 SA and trying to figure non-IB finance roles as a backup. Office preference doesn’t matter, just need to secure a SA. What’s the best option?

I went to Emory and know people from UVA. IMO it’s a toss up - should be based upon where you fit the best and financial considerations. They’re both very different student experiences and will give you chances at both MBB/Big4/Banking.

Both alumni networks are going to be helpful to get you a foot in the door if you put in the work. Neither will hold you back.

My concern (as discussed in a reply above) was finding a really solid non-IB finance position to shoot for if I'm unhappy with the results of consulting recruiting (since IB 2023 SA is basically done).  I don't mean to sell myself short, but would prefer to achievable from a semi-target school like UVA, maybee Emory.

Would it help to mention that later on  MBA into IB is my goal?
