Big 4 Consulting vs. Boutique Management Consulting
Hello everyone,
I've received two full-time offers—one from Big4 Consulting (not in the strategy arm like Parthenon/Monitor/Strategy&) for an entry-level position, and the other from a boutique management consulting firm for a more senior role.
While the Big4 offer is enticing due to its reputation, I didn't find the work aligned with my interests, as it wasn't focused on strategy consulting and was quite specialized in the deals technology (non-financial) domain. On the other hand, the boutique firm primarily engages in strategy consulting tasks such as market sizing, GTM strategy, etc.
Considering my long-term goal of pursuing an MBA or potentially entering MBB, I'm torn between the prestige associated with the Big4 name on my resume and the more relevant strategy consulting experience at the boutique firm.
Given my aspirations, would the Big4 brand significantly enhance my future prospects?
