BC CSOM or OSU Fisher

OSU Fisher is a 20-30k/year about or maybe a little less and CSOM would be 41k/year. If I went to Fisher I would definitely end up getting an MBA, but CSOM would be a maybe. Both are ranked really well, but I know CSOM is more prestigious in business. I want to do consulting or tech or FA, no IB. Is CSOM worth the extra?Correction: OSU is actually 40k and CSOM is 50k because prices went up in the time I calculated last :D

As someone who was in a similar situation between a target school that was 30k a year more expensive then my non target option, I went with the non target for the social scene but primarily the money and it all worked out (granted for IB which you aren’t interested in). I’m going to have minimal student loans (25k-ish) vs. 150k in loans from the target. I’d say follow the money but I’d bet you’ll hear otherwise from others who value prestige more than I do.

Unfortunately my state has horrible options for college $$$ wise and I will be in 120k+ in debt regardless of if I go to my cheap option or not lol… otherwise I’d just pick the cheaper one but they’re just not substantially cheaper

BC is not prestigious enough where it'll make a huge difference tbh. If you work hard and smart you should have similar opportunities out of either option (i.e. you can't just go through the motions and expect the value of your degree to get you a good job out of either school). I know that all 3 MBB recruit out of OSU on an annual basis these days

Assuming money isn't a huge factor for you, I'd go where you think you'll otherwise have more fun / a better college experience

Checked the calculator again for BC and actually it ends up being a 70k difference so I might end up picking OSU…

How are you otherwise feeling with respect to which you'd rather go to? If you're close between the two in general then siding with the money makes sense, but if you're not excited about OSU while being in love with the idea of going to BC then you'll be able to find a way to make that debt work

This is assuming the $70k is over a 4 year period -- if you're saying that BC is $70k/yr all-in for you then my opinion would probably be different

Another aspect to look at is that BC and OSU are two completely different schools from a social standpoint. I'd suggest prioritizing the type of school you can see yourself best fitting in…(are you one that would mind being on a campus with ~40k undergrads) Your comfort socially will be pivotal to building the right resume for recruiting and just having a positive college experience in general
