Bruh if you (seriously) can't even relate and empathize with people that aren't even that much older than you, then you have a problem and need to work on your communication skills. A huge part of finance comes down to this, it's not all just models and technicals and CAPM

I'm guessing some folks in 30~40 can keep up... but I can't, with all the new stuff on tiktok and what not. Most recent batch of artists I know are Beyonce, Adele, Kanye, Bruno Mars etc... New tech just flies over my head, I just buy the relatively recent phone that is the cheapest as long as it has call/text/internet it's okay for me. Just saying, as a person in 30+ range, I don't know or care to know about the new lit/it/hot things that the younger generations know.

But as whatsapitchbook mentioned

ask them about their kids, hobbies, sports, vacations, travel

these items should be good talking points regardless of generations.

Funniest

Ideal topics to ponder about: the retirement village they're going to retire in, the dimensions of their coffin, and their favorite dinosaur

It’s safe to talk about their hobbies, such as boat, fishing, golfing, skiing, gardening, and trips. Talking about their kids is an option too, especially if the kid is applying to/in college, interning or working. It’s generally pretty hard to have deep/connecting conversations given the age gap.
