JPM PB Summer Analyst - Seeking career advice

I'm currently working as a SA for JPM Private Banking (PB). However, I have my sights set on making a lateral move into the 23 Wall Division at JPMorgan, which serves as a hybrid between investment banking (IB) and private banking, exclusively catering to billionaires and family offices. I'm seeking some guidance on the best career path to achieve this goal, considering my interest in total compensation.

Here are a couple of paths I've been contemplating:

  1. Rise through the ranks at JPMorgan: I could continue working at JPM and aim for promotions within the organization. While this may not directly lead me to the 23 Wall Division, it could provide valuable experience and open up other lucrative opportunities later in my career. However, I'm unsure about the compensation potential in this scenario.

  2. Pursue an MBA from a top 10 program: Another option is to work at JPM for a few more years, gain experience, and then pursue an MBA from a highly ranked business school. This could potentially position me for C-suite roles at small or mid-size firms, offering significant compensation. However, this path does not guarantee a direct entry into the 23 Wall Division.

Given my current inclination towards the 23 Wall Division and the understanding that it's an exclusive group with <50 employees worldwide, I'm aware that breaking into it might be challenging. I'm not even certain if the compensation in the 23 Wall Division surpasses that of regular private banking, but given their high-profile clientele and potential for collecting fees through sales or M&A, I believe it could be an appealing opportunity.

I would greatly appreciate any insights, ideas, or suggestions from strangers on the internet.
