Exchange effect on 2021 summer internship

Hello guys, hope you are all well! I am a rising junior at a top 5 Canadian business school and I was planning on going on exchange January 2021 to France. How would this affect my chances of a 2021 internship, as many Canadian companies hire January-April? I am applying currently for both Fall, as I might defer a semester due to school being online, and Summer however I might not get an offer currently as my network is weak and my internship got cancelled, doing a remote unpaid ER internship for a startup, and wanted to know if I should go on exchange this year or defer to my final year. Thank you!
