Breaking into Asset Management (Brand new to Wall Street Oasis)

Hey Everyone,

I'm brand new to Wall Street Oasis, so sorry if this post is extremely trite. I'm currently an engineer based in Colorado looking to eventually work in Asset Management, ideally in a firm that focuses on value investing. I've been told that without a Masters (preferably a MBA), it will be quite difficult to transition. As an alternative, should I pursue completing the CFA instead? If yes, are there specific resources you recommend going through? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much,

Kouna

While the mba will open doors cfa has become a prerequisite in many places. I did an MBA trying to avoid the cfa... after taking the class and gmat I was over standardized tests... the MBA helped me get in the door but part of that was also taking two levels of the cfa while doing the mba...
