US Tax Support
New York City, Lower Manhattan

For an international investment bank and brokerage, the consultant will perform a variety of functions related to US aspects of the client’s international tax provisions, compliance and tax strategies.

Duration: This is a 3 month consulting assignment with the potential for extension.

Primary responsibilities include the following:
o Assist with the analysis and implementation of global transfer pricing strategy and policies, including the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing studies;
o Work with US business units on international tax issues and provide assistance on analysis and implementation of initiatives for the tax department;
o Support quarterly and annual reporting and assist with international tax audits;
o Assist with research on the impact of changes in international tax on US policies and procedures;
o Support analysis and documentation of corporate tax and sales tax returns
o Assist with management and coordination of offshore report production

A successful candidate will be able to work independently and will have excellent communication and interpersonal to work effectively with various groups.

Qualifications:
o BA/BS in accounting or finance;
o Prior investment banking experience required,
o 5+ years of investment banking and brokerage experience,
o 3+ years of tax experience within an investment banking and brokerage environment,
o Strong accounting skills,
o Ability to operate in a fast paced, changing environment,
o Strong organization skills, able to multitask and meet tight deadlines.

Additional: Direct and previous tax functional experience, and:

1. Product knowledge in Fixed Income and Equity Financial products.
2. Good understanding of financial ledgers (GL, Balance Sheet and PL).
3. Exposure to international taxation and its relationship to tax transfer pricing policies
4. Strong MS Excel skills,
5. Proficient in PowerPoint and Word,
6. PeopleSoft General Ledger, and
7. Documentum.
