Family Office
I am hoping someone can help me out with a few questions I have regarding my work in a family office and how to account for it on my resume. A little background-I am looking for a job within financial research/analysis, institutional securities sales, asset management/pwm, and sales and trading. I graduated in December 2010 and worked in corporate marketing from January 2011 until August 2011 when I quit. In September I started working for a family office. My Dad and Uncle are the principals and my mother, siblings, nieces, and I are all beneficiaries. I am largely responsible for developing our investment strategy. I hold no licenses myself and my experience in working outside my family is thin. Eventually, I want to perform all front office work myself instead of the third parties that currently execute our decisions.
My dilemma is that I want to put this experience on my resume because I do not want it to look like I have done nothing since August. Is it recommended to put this on my resume or just leave it off? What should I call myself? Advisor?
I appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks.
